We were all taken aback by the loss of Longfellow Elementary School’s Title One funds and devastated by the even deeper cuts announced for this upcoming school year. Unfortunately once these cuts take place that money will never come back. We, as parents, have decided to take a proactive stance in support of Longfellow Elementary School and the wonderful job being done there. We are writing to inform you of the newly created Foundation to subsidize those cuts.
Longfellow Elementary School approximately $300,000 for the 2008-2009 school year. With more cuts slated for the 2009-2010 school year your involvement is crucial.

The Longfellow Legacy Foundation is a 501(c)(3)non-profit organization that was created to generate revenue for the school in helping to resolve these financial cutbacks. The Foundation will function solely as its own separate entity and will rely on involvement of our parents and community partnerships to continue Longfellow Elementary School’s legacy of excellence.
Longfellow Elementary historically has overcome challenges and with your help will do so again.
